The DOT Stepped Up
The good news for air travel is the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has stepped up and created an easy-to-understand dashboard to help you understand your air travel rights.

Not only did DOT create this clear explanation, but they pushed the airlines to do better than the mere minimum. The major airlines pretty much agreed. Low cost carries not so much, so be sure to refer to the dashboard before you book your air tickets.
While it does not solve all the problems, it is still good news for airline travelers.
